Did you realize just how many awesome things there are to do in Manitoba? I've been kept hopping these past few weeks visiting some really great places, meeting some old and new friends, helping to support some amazing causes, and having a lot of fun too!
I still have Canada Day on my mind as I had a fantastic day at both the festivities at the Forks, and at the Osborne Village Street Festival. It was great to see so many families out on what turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day. I stuck out a bit in the sea of red and white but hey, I do have antlers - I'm used to it! And of course they come in handy, making me easy to spot so you can come say "hello"!

While July came in with a bang, June went out with one too. The Winnipeg Jets Draft Party, presented by Sport Chek, was an awesome celebration, thanks to the great group of Jets Rewards members that took in the intimate event at the Charleswood Boston Pizza. We filled up on pizza and prizes, visited with Jets alum Thomas Steen and Randy Gilhen, Jets prospects Nelson Nogier and Mason Appleton, and of course caught the excitement of the first round of the NHL Draft.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 13th Annual Brain Tumour Foundation Walk on June 23 - it was great to see such strong support for an important cause. More than 600 participants helped to raise more than $97,000 for support programs, services, education, and research!

I was thrilled to be invited to the Winnipeg Harvest Volunteer Recognition event where I was able to offer my congratulations to a group of people who are making a real difference in our community. Included in this group were some special teens who have participated in hunger and poverty educational programs and who will be ones to watch as far as making even greater contributions to our city and province.
I'm looking ahead to the following events where I'd love to meet you!
