ANAHEIM, California -Considering the result the last time the Winnipeg Jets played the Anaheim Ducks, Jets players figured the hosts would have something to prove on Wednesday night.
While it wasn't a dominant six-goal win like on Feb. 2 when the Jets won 9-3 at Bell MTS Place, the Jets swept the season series from Anaheim winning 3-0 at Honda Center on Wednesday night. Connor Hellebuyck made 29 saves for his 13th career shutout and first this season.

"It's awesome. It gets the monkey off my back," said Hellebuyck.
"It's a testament to the guys in here and how well they played. They blocked shots and the details were right."

Hellebuyck didn't see a shot for nearly the entire first half of the opening period but when called upon was brilliant for the remaining 50 minutes.
"Bucky held us in there. They had some sustained pressure but Bucky was just able to smother it to get a whistle for us," said Mark Scheifele who ended up with the game-winning goal.
"He definitely was the biggest reason we won tonight."
Kyle Connor registered his second consecutive multi-point game and has four points (2-2) on the road trip so far. With the win, the Jets have four straight victories and improved to 44-25-4.
"We had really good sticks and knocked an awful lot down. We made some blocks but it was hard for both teams to get a handle on the puck," said Paul Maurice.
"The defensive sticks were good, disrupted a lot of plays which prevented them from getting to the net but when they did Connor was right on them."
Winnipeg used a power play to get on the board first at 15:56 of the opening period. Connor got the first chance after Jacob Trouba's point shot rebounded off the end boards, but the puck trickled to Scheifele at the top of the crease. The Jets' alternate captain lifted the puck over John Gibson and in for his 35th of the season.

Scheifele also joined a select group of Ilya Kovalchuk, Marian Hossa and Blake Wheeler as the only players in franchise history to have multiple 80+ point seasons.
"It definitely wasn't a pretty one," said Scheifele.
"(The game) wasn't our best one but we're happy with the win and move onto tomorrow."
The Jets power play finished 1-for-5 on the night, and Winnipeg has scored at least one power play goal in their last five games.
"I don't know if it's frustration but our power play we think operates a little better a lot of nights," said Maurice.
"It got the game winner so you got to be careful of how hard you are on it. But again I liked our third period. We've had some of our best offensive zone pressure where we didn't have control of the puck but we didn't allow anything to be coming our way."
The Jets added to their lead in that impressive third frame, Tyler Myers shot from the point was redirected by Connor for his 29th and a 2-0 Winnipeg lead.
Nikolaj Ehlers made it 3-0 catching Gibson leaning away from his post and letting a quick shot go that hit the side of the Ducks netminder and into the net with 12:53 left in regulation.

"It was a great pass from Joe Morrow. The defenceman just got a stick on it," said Ehlers.
"After that I just thought the goalie wasn't going to be ready for a shot from out there, so I just took a chance."
The Jets will wrap up their three game road Thursday night in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights.
