The New York Islanders struggles against the Nashville Predators continued on Friday, as the Isles fell 4-1 to the Preds at UBS Arena.
Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi each scored power-play goals, Matt Duchene had a three-point night (1G, 2A), and Mikael Granlund scored an empty-netter, while Kevin Lankinen stopped a career-high 48 shots for the win.
Mathew Barzal scored a power-play goal in a losing effort for the Islanders, who put a season-high 49 shots on goal.
The loss was the Islanders second straight overall, second to the Predators this season and extended their winless streak vs Nashville to nine games (0-7-2).

1st Period:
14:18 - NSH 1, NYI 0 PPG - Filip Forsberg one times a cross-ice pass from Matt Duchene to put the Predators ahead 1-0. Roman Josi with the secondary assist.
2nd Period:
8:22 - NSH 2, NYI 0 PPG - Roman Josi one times a Forsberg feed top shelf on Ilya Sorokin during a four-on-three Predators power play. Duchene picks up his second assist of the game.
3rd Period:
11:06 - NSH 2, NYI 1 PPG - Mathew Barzal skates into the left circle and snaps a shot high past a screened Lankinen for his third goal of the season. Brock Nelson picks up the lone assist.
18:47 - NSH 3, NYI 1 ENG - Duchene pressures Noah Dobson at the Predators blue line, works the puck free and scores on an empty-net from the neutral zone.
19:23 - NSH 4, NYI 1 ENG - Granlund puts the finishing touches on the game, extending the Predators lead to 4-1 with Nashville's second empty-netter. Mattias Ekholm with the lone assist.

Cal Clutterbuck missed Friday's game with an upper-body injury... Cole Bardreau was recalled on Thursday and drew in for Clutterbuck, playing his first game since Feb. 13, 2020. The Islanders power play went 1-for-4, while the penalty kill went 1-for-3.
