THREE SHUTOUTS AND A SWEEP FOR SOROKIN:

Sorokin made 22 saves as CSKA cruised to a 6-0 win in game one and stopped all 19 he faced in a 1-0 win in game two. Sorokin stopped 19-of-20 in a 3-1 win in game three and was lights out with 21 saves in a 1-0 win in game four.
CSKA, the second seed in the KHL's Western Conference will play third-seeded Jokerit in the semifinals starting on Friday. Jokerit beat HC Sochi 4-1 in the quarterfinals. CSKA went 1-1-0 against Jokerit during the regular season.

COCKERILL ADVANCES BU IN HOCKEY EAST PLAYOFFS, EARNS ROOKIE HONORS:

Logan Cockerill scored the series-clinching goal as Boston University swept UConn in the Hockey East quarterfinals on Saturday. Cockerill broke a 1-1 tie in the second period as BU took game two 2-1 and swept their series 2-0.
The Islanders' 2017 seventh-round pick was an clutch player all series, as he also set up the overtime winner as BU beat UConn 5-4 in game one of the series on Friday. With a goal and an assist in the series, Cockerill extended his point streak to 10 games, racking up 11 points (4G, 7A) over that span. His streak is the longest for any BU player this season.
Cockerill was recongized for his standout play, earning Hockey East's Rookie of the Week honors on Monday.
Cockerill and BU will take on crosstown rival Boston College in the Hockey East semis starting on Friday night (5 p.m.) at TD Garden. Islanders fans can watch on ESPN 3.

MIRAGEAS, PROVIDENCE ADVANCE TO HOCKEY EAST SEMIS:

Ben Mirageas and Providence College advanced to the Hockey East semifinals after sweeping a two-game, quarterfinal series over Maine. Mirageas recorded an assist in the series clincher, a 3-2 Providence win on Saturday.
Providence will play Northeastern on Friday night at TD Garden at 8 p.m. Islanders fans can watch Mirageas on ESPN3 immediately following the Boston University and Boston College.
The Hockey East semis is a single elimination affair, so it's do or die for BU and Providence. The Hockey East final is on Saturday.

QUENNEVILLE RECORDS FIRST FOUR-ASSIST GAME:

Highlighted by a four-assist night, David Quenneville potted six assists in three games last week for the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Quenneville's six-assist week extended his point streak to five games, with nine helpers over that span. The Islanders' 2016 seventh-round pick dished a game-high four assists in Friday's 6-4 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings, and had a single dish in losses to Regina on Tuesday and Red Deer on Saturday.
Quenneville's four-assist night was a career high, while his four points tied a season and career high (he had a goal and three assists on Oct. 13).
The defenseman continues to add to his career year, which is now up to 79 points (26G, 53A) in 67 games. Quenneville leads all WHL defensemen in scoring and is tied with forward Mark Rassell as Medicine Hat's scoring leader.

SODERSTROM RETURNS:

Linus Soderstrom returned to action for HV71 last week, playing for the first time since Nov. 17. Soderstrom played two games, going 1-1-0 in his return. HV71 is currently playing Linkoping in a three-game playoff series. Linkoping leads the series 1-0.
