Last Time Out...

  • The Canes continued to win streak last night in the Windy City, handling the Blackhawks with ease, 5-2.
  • Jackson Blake (1G, 1A) and Jordan Maritnook (1G, 1A) both recorded their first goals of the season and joined Mike Reilly (2A) as players who had multiple points in the contest.
  • Brandon Bussi made 24 saves in net, winning his second straight start.

Previous Meetings This Season vs. PHI...

  • Oct. 3: Thanks to a Shayne Gostisbehere overtime winner, Carolina registered its first victory of the season, 3-2.

Down, But Not Out...

  • Sebastian Aho scored shorthanded during Saturday's second period, recording the second shorthanded strike in as many games for the team.
  • Carolina is one of just four teams with multiple shorthanded goals already this season, joining the Edmonton Oilers (2), Los Angeles Kings (2), and the New York Islanders (2).

Red Hot Janko...

  • Another goal-scorer last night was Mark Jankowski, who enters tonight's tilt with goals in three consecutive contests for the first time in his career.
  • Needing 32 games to reach three goals last season, the 32-year-old did so in just six outings this year. Among Hurricanes skaters, only Sebastian Aho (5) and Logan Stankoven (4) have more in the early going.

In Net...

  • With Brandon Bussi winning last night in Chicago, the Canes are expected to go with Pyotr Kochetkov tonight.
  • Kochetkov is not only 2-0 this season, but one of his wins came against these same Flyers last Saturday at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
  • In eight career appearances against the Flyers, Kochetkov is 7-1 with a .917 save percentage.

On The Other Side...

  • The only team in the Eastern Conference still without a win, it's been tough sledding to start the season in Philadelphia.
  • Scoring just seven goals in six games, a sputtering offense has been the main issue for the group.
  • Defensively, the team hasn't been much better, allowing 24 goals, the second-most among all NHL teams.
  • Joseph Woll, the expected starter tonight, is a tough-luck 0-1-2, which included a 37-save showing against Carolina in last week's matchup.
