SAN JOSE -- James Reimer made 34 saves in his 400th NHL game, and the San Jose Sharks held on for a 2-1 win against the Dallas Stars at SAP Center on Saturday.

Tomas Hertl and Erik Karlsson scored, and Timo Meier and Alexander Barabanov each had two assists for the Sharks (15-12-1), who had lost three of four.
"We found a way to win it," Karlsson said. "'Reims' played great for us again and everybody chipped in when we needed to. I think it was a win that will give us some peace of mind and some confidence moving forward."

Reimer made his first start since a 5-2 win at the New Jersey Devils on Nov. 30. Sharks coach Bob Boughner told the San Jose Mercury News on Tuesday that Reimer was "run down and not feeling 100 percent so we want to make sure we're taking care of that."
"I felt like I was maybe a little rusty in the first, but I think that's to be expected," Reimer said. "I thought as the game went on I settled in more and more."
Michael Raffl scored, and Braden Holtby made 23 saves for the Stars (13-10-2), who lost all three games on their road trip.
"That's probably the best road game we've played all year," Stars coach Rick Bowness said. "We limited them and we just didn't score. But we did a lot of good things tonight. ... I'll take that game all year and that was just a solid game.
"We did a lot of good things and you give Mr. Reimer a lot of credit. He made a lot of big saves for them."
Hertl made it 1-0 at 8:30 of the first period when he redirected a shot from Meier. Hertl has scored six goals in a four-game goal streak.

Dallas outshot San Jose 14-6 in the first period.
"I thought [Reimer] was our best player in the first period," Boughner said. "They came out hard. He just looked pretty poised in there all night. I think we fed off of that a little bit and felt comfortable being in a 1-0 game for a long time until we got the second one."
Karlsson made it 2-0 at 16:28 of the second period with a slap shot through traffic, his fifth goal in seven games and 10th point (five goals, five assists) in 10 games.
"He's been a catalyst for our offense really for the last little while, and he and Tommy [Hertl] are taking charge," Boughner said. "He looks calm there. He has that skill of breaking us out of our end and he's shooting the puck a lot better."
The Stars challenged for goalie interference but video review upheld the goal and they were assessed a minor penalty for delay of game.
Raffl cut it to 2-1 at 8:26 of the third period when he redirected a shot by Radek Faksa.
"I thought we played better than we did in those other two games," Raffl said. "That was one of our better games that we've played lately."
Sharks forward Kevin Labanc sustained an upper-body injury 3:02 into the first period when he was hit into the boards by Stars defenseman Jani Hakanpää.
"I don't know the actual injury. I know it's upper body, to be honest," Boughner said. "I want to go in and check right now. We will [know] more tomorrow, but I think he's just getting a test and we'll figure that out."
