The Vegas Golden Knights closed out their three-game road trip with a dramatic 2-1 shootout win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night to improve to 7-4-0 overall.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
The teams traded chances in the first 20 minutes, but it was the Blackhawks with the advantage going into the first intermission thanks to a late tally from Kirby Dach. After a scoreless second period, Nick Holden evened the scoring with a goal in the final moments just after Vegas pulled its own goalie. During the 3-on-3 period of overtime, neither team found the back of the net sending the game into a shootout. After an even two rounds, Marc-Andre Fleury denied Alex DeBrincat to set up Shea Theodore for the shootout winner.
