Due to travel complications, Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee will be unable to attend the 2017 NHL Draft Lottery in Toronto in person. In his place will be Hockey Operations Analyst Tom Poraszka. McPhee will participate remotely from Washington, DC.
Further details are below:
Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee was scheduled to depart Washington, DC and arrive in Toronto Saturday afternoon to attend the NHL Draft Lottery and participate in a series of interviews with NHL rightsholders beforehand.

His flight to Toronto was significantly delayed however and he was unable to attend the televised portion of the Draft Lottery in person. As an alternative, the NHL arranged for him to go to the Verizon Center in Washington, DC and be a part of the Draft Lottery remotely from Game 2 of the Penguins/Capitals series.
We had a member of our hockey operations staff Tom Poraszka - who is based in Toronto - on standby to represent the organization at the Draft Lottery in person, in case these kinds of travel complications did occur.
