Las Vegas to announce name, logo Nov. 22

Expansion team likely to be called Desert, Silver or Golden Knights

Las Vegas will announce its name and logo during an event at Toshiba Plaza in Las Vegas on Nov. 22.
Among those expected to attend are NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Las Vegas owner Bill Foley.

Las Vegas was granted a franchise June 23 to become the 31st NHL team and will begin play next season. The expansion draft will be held June 18-20, 2017 and the selections will be announced June 21.
Foley had said Oct. 8 that the name would be the Desert Knights, Silver Knights or Golden Knights, and that the colors will include gray, gold and a red-rock hue from the Nevada landscape.
