Gallant scrum quotes:
Will David Perron be in the lineup tonight?
Hopefully, but I'll talk to the trainers when I'm done here and they get off the ice with everybody. We'll see. There's a chance he might play tonight.
Will Tomas Tatar be the one to sit if David Perron plays?
We'll know that later tonight.
What would it mean to have David Perron back in the lineup?
Well if he's back, he's obviously one of our top players. He had a great season for us. He's missed the last 7 or 8 games. He's an important player for us. He's competitive. He had about 50 assists and he's a good hockey player.
On David Perron's playoff experience:
He's an experienced player. He's a good player. He's helped our team all season long. He's one of our leaders and one of our top players. He'll definitely be a help.
Is the team's three goals enough offense to keep winning in this series?
We'll see. It's worked so far.
Do you think you're getting enough dangerous chances?
Yeah, definitely. The goaltenders have been the talk of the series for both teams. They're both outstanding and making great saves. Quick has been unbelievable and Fleury has been great too. It's a battle of the goaltenders right now.
Does Jake Muzzin and Drew Doughty returning to LA's lineup change anything on your forecheck?
Be a little quicker, I guess. They're great players. They miss those guys when they're not in the lineup, obviously. But I thought their defense competed pretty hard the other night and battled hard for guys that don't play a lot of hockey. Getting Doughty and Muzzin back helps their hockey club, for sure.
Does Doughty's presence on the Kings PP put more emphasis on discipline?
We don't worry about that a lot. I think you look at the stats and we're second in the league in penalties. We don't take a lot of penalties. We're a disciplined hockey team and we know what it takes. You can't be killing penalties five or six times, that doesn't work especially in the playoffs.
Is there anything you're looking to improve tonight?
I just want us to play our game. Be ready to play our game. I've liked the way we've played the last two games, we've competed hard defensively. We're getting scoring chances offensively. I like the way we're playing our game right now. It's going to be an intense game tonight. They're coming back to their building in a hole right now, but it's all about working hard, competing hard and being ready to play tonight.
How did you think your team looked after the long game, conditioning wise?
Great. Real good. Players were starting to cramp up a little bit on both teams, but that's normal for playing five periods. They did a good job, the training staff, between periods like every training staff does. Getting some fluids into them and making sure they're eating something. So overall, good. Obviously the next day was a good day off for everybody. Everybody feels great.
