Last Chance To Vote For 2017 NHL All-Stars

Monday night will be the final opportunity to vote for captains for the 2017 NHL All-Star Game, which will be held on Sunday, January 29 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Of course, at a time when the Golden Knights have neither a schedule nor roster, Vegas will not be represented in this year's All-Star Game.
But considering that at this time next year there'll be an opportunity to send Vegas players to the NHL All-Star Game, it could be a solid opportunity to get in the habit of voting, in preparation of supporting Golden Knights players next year.
Below are lists of the players who entered this week leading their division in voting.

The vote winner in each division will be an All-Star captain.

Pacific Division

1. Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers): The 19-year-old phenom and Edmonton Oilers captain is tied for the NHL lead in scoring. He has 43 points (14g, 29a) in 38 games.
2. Brent Burns (San Jose Sharks):The popular Burns is the NHL's leading scorer among defensemen, and has been the top offensive player for the Pacific Division-leading San Jose Sharks.
3. Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames): At 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, Gaudreau isn't the biggest player in the league. But he is one of the most exciting, as well as the leading scorer for the Calgary Flames.
4. Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles Kings):The veteran center has struggled to score goals this season, with only three in the Kings' first 32 games. Yet he remains one of the league's dominant two-way centers.
5. Joe Thornton (San Jose Sharks):Like Kopitar, Joe Thornton has struggled to score goals this season, with only two at the New Year. He is, however, tied for sixth in the league with 25 assists, and remains one of hockey's preeminent playmakers.

Central Division

1. P.K. Subban (Nashville Predators): Neither Subban nor the Predators have gotten off to the start that was expected of them in the star blueliner's first year with his new team. However, Subban has already surpassed his goal total from last season in this season's first three months, and remains a face of the NHL.

2. Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks):The reigning Hart Trophy winner as NHL MVP, Kane has once again nearly been a point-per-game player. He has 37 (11g, 26a) in 39 games, and the Blackhawks are once again in first place.
3. Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks): The Blackhawk has struggled mightily to score for long stretches of this season. Yet at age 28, Toews has already established himself as a three-time Stanley Cup-winning captain with the Chicago Blackhawks.
4. Patrik Laine (Winnipeg Jets): The second overall draft pick in last June's NHL Draft, Laine has electrified NHL crowds in his rookie season with his blazing speed and sizzling shot. He has 19 goals in his first 39 games, and is a legitimate threat to score 40 goals this season as an 18-year-old.
5. Vladimir Tarasenko (St. Louis Blues): Since entering the NHL five years ago, this Russian has continued to get better and better. He trails only Connor McDavid among Western Conference scorers.

Atlantic Division

1. Carey Price (Montreal Canadiens): Widely seen as the NHL's best goalie, Price has a 2.07 goals-against average and .930 save percentage as the New Year, and is the driving force behind the first-place Montreal Canadiens.
2. Jaromir Jagr (Florida Panthers): A month shy of his 45th birthday, Jagr isn't having a great year, by Jagr standards. Yet he remains one of hockey's true legends, having recently passed Mark Messier for second place on the NHL's all-time scoring list. He trails only Wayne Gretzky.
3. Shea Weber (Montreal Canadiens): Many around hockey were down on Weber after he was traded from the Nashville Predators to the Montreal Canadiens for P.K. Subban in the offseason. Yet Weber has been a force for the Canadiens, and his nine goals trail only Brent Burns among NHL defensemen.
4. Patrice Bergeron (Boston Bruins):With only 12 points in his first 36 games, Bergeron isn't lighting up the scoresheet early in the season. The seasoned veteran, however, is largely considered the league's top defensive forward and has a 13-year track record as one of the league's best.
5. Jack Eichel (Buffalo Sabres):The 20-year-old star was injured at the start of the season, but has responded by scoring seven goals in his first 15 games of the season.

Metropolitan Division

1. Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins):Considered the NHL's top player more often than not, Crosby is having one of his best seasons. He's running away with the NHL's goal-scoring lead with 26, and is on pace to score 50 goals for only the second time in his career.
2. Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals):The NHL's best goal scorer the past decade, Ovechkin has yet to catch fire this season by Ovechkin standards. He has 17 goals in his first 36 games, yet has scored 50 or more in each of the past three seasons.
3. Phil Kessel (Pittsburgh Penguins): Rejuvenated after a trade two summers ago sent him from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Pittsburgh Penguins, Kessel, a pure goal scorer, is playing the best hockey of his career. And after last spring, Phil Kessel is a Stanley Cup champion.
4. Wayne Simmonds (Philadelphia Flyers): Simmonds isn't one of the league's faster skaters. But he sure is tough, and knows how to finish plays. He's spent most of the first half of the season among the top five in NHL goal scoring, and is on pace for the best offensive totals of his career.
5. John Tavares (NY Islanders):Tavares is the face of the New York Islanders, and leads his team in virtually every category. One of league's elite offensive skillsets at the center position.
