The Philadelphia Flyers announced they have acquired forward David Goyette from the Seattle Kraken, in exchange for forward Devin Kaplan. Goyette will report to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, according to General Manager Daniel Briere.
Goyette, 22 (3/27/2004), was selected by Seattle in the second round (61st overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. He has appeared in 108 AHL games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds from 2024-26, recording 28 points (9g-19a). He also added three assists in 11 Calder Cup Playoff games.
Prior to turning pro, the St-Jerome, Quebec native spent three seasons (2021-24) with the Ontario Hockey League’s Sudbury Wolves, where he totaled 282 points (114g-168a). During the 2023-24 season, Goyette led the OHL in points with 117 (40g-77a).
Kaplan, 22 (1/10/2004), spent one full season in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in 2025-26 and registered five goals, eight assists, and 13 points in 49 games. He played three seasons with Boston University (NCAA) from 2022-25, and the forward made his NHL debut with the Flyers following his final collegiate season in 2024-25.
