New Jersey has placed defenseman Luke Hughes (shoulder) on Long-Term Injury Reserve, retroactively to Jan. 19.
The Devils have recalled defenseman Colton White from Utica of the American Hockey League. He met the team in Vancouver and will be available if needed to play against the Canucks on Friday night.
Hughes' timetable isn't known but it will be an "extended period," per head coach Sheldon Keefe. Hughes is still being evaluated.
