Lauren Boyle - Jewelry Event (2)

Sunday, November 18, the Devils traveled to Carolina for an evening game against the Hurricanes. While the team was on the road, Lauren Boyle, newly named NHL Hockey Fights Cancer Ambassador and wife of Devils forward Brian Boyle, hosted a jewelry party where 30% of all sales benefitted Hockey Fights Cancer.

"I wanted to put this together as a fun event for the wives and girlfriends to get involved with raising money," Lauren said. "When you come together as one, you can accomplish a lot, no matter what team you're associated with."
Lauren invited fellow Devils wives and girlfriends, along with Rangers wives and girlfriends, to attend the event which ran for three hours Sunday afternoon at her house. There were 35 total attendees who spent the evening purchasing jewelry from Siena Jewelry and Karen Agren and spent time together.
"I hope we can do it again next season," Lauren said about the event she hopes that will become a staple Hockey Fights Cancer fundraiser. "I'd like to make it bigger and better next year. It came together pretty quickly, but I'm planning on remaining an ambassador after this year and eventually creating our own foundation. This event will be a great platform to raise money and I hope to grow the event next season by inviting fans, more teams and host at a larger venue."
The Boyles were very proud to support a cause that hits so close to home for them, as Brian Boyle was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in September 2017 and on October 24, 2018, found out he was in remission. With that, Lauren feels the well-wishes sent her family's way are very touching.
"The amount of support we've received and continue to receive is amazing," Lauren explained. "We feel so loved by people we know and even people we don't know around the league. I'm happy we get to share our story and we hope that by sharing it, we can raise money and awareness and bring hope to a cause that is so close and personal to my heart."
Although Lauren hosted the event this past Sunday, she will be sharing a link to the jewelry items with other NHL teams' players' wives and girlfriends. This way, they can also take part in purchasing the jewelry and helping raise funds for this cause. So far, the event Sunday raised over $8,000, and the two vendors have agreed to keep the sale open until January 1, 2019.
The Devils host their Hockey Fights Cancer night Friday, November 23 at 4PM at Prudential Center when they host the New York Islanders. Fans can take part in the fundraising efforts that night by purchasing a mystery puck, purchasing a Hockey Fights Cancer T-Shirt, participating in the 50/50 raffle or by bidding on Hockey Fights Cancer items that will be available at
