At 99th overall, the New Jersey Devils picked center Jaromir Pytlik in the 2020 NHL Draft. Pytlik is a 6'2, 200 pound center from Dacice, Czech Republic.
He played for Sault Ste. Marie last season in the Ontario Hockey League and over 56 games he had 22 goals and 28 assists for 50 points. He played in the 2020 CHL/NHL Top Prospects game and had a +1 rating with two shots on goal.

Pytlik plays for the Czech Republic internationally and competed in the 2020 World Junior Championships. He had one assist in five games during the tournament. During that tournament, Pytlik was coached by Devils legendary forward Patrik Elias.
The newest Devils center bring a strong two-way game to the Devils franchise. Joey Tenute of NHL Central Scouting says the center's "200-foot game is strong - a mature player that's relied upon in crucial situations. Good on the power play, penalty kill, and face-offs. He's a big kid and uses his size to his advantage."
Like his first name, Jaromir, Pytlik shares his love of hockey with his father. His dad played and coach hockey in the Czech Republic, making it a family affair.
