Tuesday

The Devils were on the ice from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. In that time, the prospects worked on everything from conditioning, skills and tempo.

Devils center Alexander Command - the club's first-round pick (12th overall) this year - was the only player not on the ice. He did conduct off-ice work.

Following their on-ice work, the prospects took a trip to a local hospital to spread some love and cheer.

Below are interviews and comments from the prospects.

Alexander Command

Alexander Command meets the media after his first few days in New Jersey.

Quote 'em: “We were New York fans, so we had New York teams and New Jersey. I switched around. When I was about 12 or 13, I stuck with New Jersey. I just wore those t-shirts.”

Conrad Fondrk

Conrad Fondrk talks about his first season in the NCAA and his first year as a drafted player.

Quote ‘em: “Last year was interesting. It was great. Boston is such a nice city, such a great spot to play hockey. Our team was great, great kids. We were super young. It was nice coming in with other guys my age that I could relate to and grow with. We most of our core guys coming back this year, so that should be good.”

David Rozsival

David Rozsival speaks after skating at Devils Development Camp.

Quote ‘em: “Green Bay is cool. All the football fans there and football games. My billet bought me tickets (to a Packers game). Pretty cool. I have to say (I’m a fan) because of Green Bay. I don’t really watch it but I catch up with Green Bay sometimes.”

Ben Kevan

Ben Kevan speaks after skating at Devils Development Camp.

GQuote ‘em: “Overall there was a lot of positives that came out of (last year) for me personally. I had to learn to play a lot of different roles. I was as high as the second line, as low as getting scratched. I had a lot of learning experiences, and learning how to play with different players and a lot of different situations, it really helped my game. So, it was an up-and-down season but a lot positives came out of it.”

Gustav Hillstrom

Gustav Hillstrom speaks after skating at Devils Development Camp.

Quote ‘em: “It was super fun (playing at the pro level in the SHL). I got around 30 games. It was a good experience. I learned a lot. It was a lot of what I expected. Everything is faster and everyone is so much stronger.”

Trenten Bennett

Trenten Bennett speaks after his one-ice day at Devils Development Camp.

Quote ‘em: “For me, playing free is the biggest thing. There were too many times I got caught during the year trying to play perfect. Trying to really make a save really easy. In that league when you try to be perfect and make a save a certain way, you get picked apart. That was the biggest thing I learned. We’re trying to dial in my athleticism and my size to my full advantage.”

Sigge Holmgren

Sigge Holmgren speaks after skating at Devils Development Camp.

Quote ‘em: “In the beginning it was very fun to come back (from the shoulder injury) but it was hard. I was out for a whole year and then came back. That was pretty tough. I got better and the shoulder feels great. It was harder than I through in the beginning but the end (of the year) was pretty good.”

Mason Moe

Mason Moe talks about his first season in the NCAA.

Quote ‘em: “I ordered irons a few weeks ago and they’re supposed to come. I beat my dad last week. I’m playing good golf right now.”
