On Sunday night Prudential Center was transformed into a world of its own, hosting MTV's VMAs and some of the biggest names in music gathered to showcase their talents and hope for some hardware. The night was filled with several big moments, like Eminem and Snoop Dog performing together, Kane Brown becoming the first male country star to perform at the VMAs, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers accepting the 2022 Global Icon Award, it was a show to remember.
While those were some big moments inside, there were several on the outside as well, and we take a look at them all in this special edition of 10 Takeaways, presented by Ticketmaster:

2.

The artists that Dawson was excited to see? Eminem and country artist Kane Brown.
While Eminem didn't stop by, Dawson did get the chance to chat with Brown and the two offered each other career advice, were they to swap careers.

It wasn't just the musicians and performers who walk the red carpet and revealed the inside scoop during their interview appearances… Justina Valentine, from MTV's Wild 'N Out, turned the questions on Dawson. The Jersey girl, who has a bit of hockey fandom in her, asked Dawson if his teeth were real…. All but two teeth, says Dawson!

Dawson wasn't the only Devil on hand for the big night at Prudential Center, both Dougie Hamilton and Ken Daneyko were taking in the entire experience!

The night is all about the music and the performers, but like any VMAs you can't get through the night without talking about the style. Throw in a head of lettuce like Dawson's and people took notice.
On several occasions, the performers stopping by commented on Dawson's hockey hair… at one point Chloe Fineman from Saturday Night Live suggested if Dawson wanted to be ready to be on the show, he'd have to be ready to wear some wigs.
Have a look and see how Dawson feels about potentially covering up his hair with anything other than a hockey helmet!

Yung Gravy, a noted Tampa Bay Lightning fan, shared that he does also have some big love for the New Jersey Devils. He told Dawson Mercer that while the Lightning play his songs at Amalie Arena and they gave him a Stanley Cup ring from their 2021 championship, Yung Gravy shared one of his favorite albums is 'Hellboy' by the late Lil Peep, who is donning a New Jersey Devils sweater in his music video for the title song.

Here's a quick behind-the-scenes... have a look at this video of Anitta walking to the stage and getting ready for rehearsals.
The beginning of the video shows Anitta walking down a hallway before turning a corner... well that hallway is where, during the hockey season, the Devils opponents set up shop. Once she turns the corner? That opening is usually filled with Devils fans, with an entire section of Prudential Center seats.

On several occasions, the artists were asked what skill they'd want Dawson to teach them if they were to take up hockey.
It seems like everyone was looking for the basics from Dawson. Most everyone suggests he teach them how to skate for starters.
Both Betty Who and Nev Schulman suggested they might have goalie energy, as opposed to skater ability if they were hockey players.
