Devils forward prospects Dawson Mercer ('20) and Graeme Clarke ('19) have been selected by Team Canada to attend their annual National Junior Selection Camp. Mercer and Clarke are two of 46 players invited to the camp which begins November 16th and runs through December 13th in Red Deer, Alberta.
Mercer has played four games with Chicoutimi in the QMJHL this season with four goals and two assists, ranking second on the team. He was the Devils second first-round pick in 2020, taken 18th overall.
Clarke is a third-round pick, 80th overall in the 2019 draft. He has played the last three seasons with the Ottawa 67s in the Ontario Hockey League. The OHL season has not yet begun due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The nearly month-long camp will be under strict health protocols and closed to both the media and the general public.
Clarkes 67s head coach André Tourigny will coach Team Canada at the tournament beginning on December 25th, 2020.
Canada is the defending champions at this year's World Juniors.
