Kotkaniemi Lehkonen Primeau hospitals

MONTREAL - When the holiday season approaches, so too does the Canadiens' annual visit to the city's hospitals to spread some cheer and season's greetings.

It's a time-honored tradition started by Habs legend Jean Beliveau, and this year marked the 55th time that the team has made the heartwarming visits, which took place on Thursday.

Of course, a holiday visit wouldn't be complete if the Canadiens didn't get the chance to work on some decorations for the Christmas tree.

For some Habs, it was a chance to practice a bit of French.

Brendan Gallagher was the lucky recipient of a tasty treat from a young fan.

He and teammate Christian Folin also took the opportunity to practice their dad skills.
The biggest reason for these visits? Putting some smiles on some very deserving faces.

Smiles, and high-fives all around.
The players are certainly appreciative of how important the tradition of the visits really is.
And it wouldn't be a Canadiens visit without spreading a little #GoHabsGo cheer as well.

Thanks for having us, everyone!
