The World Cup of Hockey 2016 has featured the NHL's best players playing at an incredibly high level. Thanks to Sportvision, we are learning exactly how remarkable the skill at the World Cup has been.

Sportvision has
been tracking World Cup players
, and through the 12 games of pool play, we know that Team Canada is 3-0 and has scored the tournament's most goals, 14. But we also know that Team Canada defenseman Shea Weber recorded the hardest shot in the tournament, slapping one on goal at 103 mph against Team USA.
For all of Team USA's struggles, it managed to spend almost 45 percent of its three Group A pool play games in its opposition's offensive zone. That was superior to Team Europe's offensive-zone time, which was 37 percent of its three games, and Team USA controlled the offensive-zone time in its game against Team Europe 49-33, despite the 3-0 Team Europe win.
Europe advanced to the tournament semifinals against Team Sweden on Sunday (1 p.m.; ESPN, CBC, TVA Sports), thanks in part to goalie Jaroslav Halak's .946 save percentage. But Team Europe forward Anze Kopitar logged the most aggregate distance, 17,487 meters or almost 11 miles, in its three pool-play games.
Sportvision will continue tracking the World Cup, which will have two semifinal games and a best-of-3 final series, and the metrics tracked could be more impressive as the four remaining teams vie for the tournament championship.
