The United States beat Canada 4-3 in shootout in a snowy outdoor game on Friday afternoon at the World Junior Championship in Buffalo.

The two teams now both have a 2-1 record at the tournament.
Ryan Poehling (23:33, no shots), on the American side, and Victor Mete (23:52, 1 shot, 2 PIM), for Team Canada, were both held off the scoresheet in the contest.
Canada's next game - and last of the preliminary round - takes place on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. against Denmark.
For their part, the United States take on Finland on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
