After falling to Canada in its opening game two days before, Finland got its first win of the World Junior Championship on Thursday in Buffalo, defeating Denmark 4-1 at KeyBank Center.

Canadiens prospect Joni Ikonen, Montreal's second-round pick (58th overall) in 2017, was held off the scoresheet in the win. He finished with 16:15 of ice time, registered one shot on net and recorded a plus-1 differential.
Joona Koppanen, Aapeli Rasanen, Juuso Valimaki, and Henri Jokiharju were the goal scorers for the Finns, while Nikolaj Krag was the lone Dane to get one past Finnish starter Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.
Finland has a day off on Friday before resuming preliminary-round action against Slovakia at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
