Price has found a way to make Montreal dream time and time again.
And when the 34-year-old made his season debut last Friday against the New York Islanders, the goaltender created another memorable moment fans won't soon forget.
It had been a long time coming for Price, having gone through a lengthy rehabilitation effort following offseason knee surgery in addition to a stint in the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. Over the past few months, though, he still found ways to give fans signs of hope for a return to play when he began skating on his own, and then practicing with his teammates.

Through it all, he remained calm, cool, and collected.

So, when interim head coach Martin St-Louis announced that Price would get the start in net against the Islanders, it's understandable that our reaction was quite the opposite of the netminder's default demeanor.
And we weren't the only ones excited to have Price back in the lineup.
An artist shared this masterpiece featuring the beloved netminder.

On his way to the locker room, Nick Suzuki flashed some rad socks adorned with Price's face.

And of course, Price was a sight to behold in his signature hat. Oh, how we missed those entrances from our

.

What we missed even more was hearing the entire building chant Carey's name as the goaltender led his squad through the tunnel for warmups and game.
It was an ovation for the ages.

Longtime teammate Brendan Gallagher couldn't help but smile when Price took his first steps on the Bell Centre ice this season.

The best part? He got to share this moment with his family - including his youngest child, Lincoln, who got his first taste of having a front row seat to see his dad in action.

And even though the final score was not what he and his teammates wanted, his return was nonetheless triumphant. Because Carey's back. And the fans didn't miss their chance to show their favorite goalie some much-needed love.
