Zachary Fucale

MONTREAL - The Canadiens announced on Tuesday that they had recalled goaltender Zachary Fucale from the AHL's Laval Rocket.

Fucale, 22, had been sent down to the Rocket on Sunday ahead of the start of Laval's training camp. The native of Rosemere had suited up for one preseason game for the Canadiens, on September 18 against Boston in Quebec City. Fucale split duties in that game with Al Montoya, allowing one goal on 13 shots in 28 minutes of action.
Fucale was called up after Charlie Lindgren suffered a lower-body injury on Monday. Lindgren was slated to dress for the Canadiens' exhibition game against the Maple Leafs in Toronto, but did not play.
The Canadiens' second-round pick (36th overall) in 2013, Fucale played 46 games for the ECHL's Brampton Beast last season, compiling a 25-12-2 record, 3.17 goals-against average and .898 save percentage. He also played three games for the AHL's Saint John's IceCaps in 2016-17, going 1-2-0 with a 2.36 goals-against average and .919 save percentage.
