MONTREAL - Slovakia stunned the Americans 6-3 and Canada dominated Germany 11-2 on Day 3 of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Slovakia 6 - USA 3
Filip Mesar scored his first goal of the tournament as the Slovaks caused an upset with a convincing win over the Americans. The forward's shot from the point was deflected by a player on the opposing team on its way to net. He registered 20:49 of ice time and a plus-1 differential.

Defenseman Lane Hutson recorded an assist and played 14:35 with a minus-2 differential.
Canada 11 - Germany 2
Forward Joshua Roy played in his second game of the tournament.
After setting up Connor Bedard in the first period, the latter returned the favor in the third frame. Roy deked past three German players before defeating goaltender Simon Wolf and netting Canada's 11th goal.

He finished the game with a plus-1 differential after spending 11:09 on the ice.

Oliver Kapanen and the Finns will clash with Latvia at 11:00 a.m. ET.
Adam Engstrom will be in action as of 1:30 p.m. ET when Sweden takes on Czechia.
Hutson will face Switzerland at 4:00 p.m. ET.
