UPDATE (2:23 p.m.) The Blues assigned Nikita Alexandrov to the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds following the announcement that the team claimed forward Kasperi Kapanen off waivers from Pittsburgh. As a result, the Blues are expected to play with 11 forwards and seven defensemen on Saturday.
The St. Louis Blues enter Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins looking to snap a four-game losing skid.
The team had a frustrating night on Thursday, where it led 2-0 in the third period but eventually lost 3-2 to the Vancouver Canucks in overtime. The loss sparked some fire from the team after the game, which included some
emotional postgame comments
from forward Alexey Toropchenko and Head Coach Craig Berube.
Those comments were addressed by GM Doug Armstrong on Friday.

"We've made some radical changes to this group over the last couple of weeks," Armstrong said, referencing recent trades of Vladimir Tarasenko, Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari. "Emotions are raw right now. And really what we need to do is come to grips with where we're at as an organization, come to grips with what we have on our team right now and start to build. I've talked to the players and talked about our last decade, and it was a good decade. Some ups and downs, but that decade is now behind us. Today is the first day of the next decade.
"We owe more to our fans, we owe more to our ownership group, we more more to each other than what has transpired, quite honestly, this whole season."
Saturday's game against the Penguins begins at 2:30 p.m. and will be available on ABC, ESPN+ and 101 ESPN.
The projected lineup below is based on Friday's team practice, which had Tyler Tucker and Calle Rosen skating as extras. The projected lineup will be updated if additional changes are available during pregame warmups.
