ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues General Manager Alexander Steen announced today the Blues have recalled defenseman Adam Jiricek from their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
In addition, the Blues have claimed defenseman Justin Barron off waivers from the Nashville Predators.
Jiricek, 20, spent last season with the OHL’s Brantford Bulldogs, recording 59 points (19 goals, 40 assists) in 55 regular-season games. His 59 points ranked fourth among OHL defensemen, while his 19 goals shared third. The Plzen, Czechia, native also appeared in six postseason games with the Springfield Thunderbirds. Jiricek was drafted by the Blues in the first round, No. 16 overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft.
Barron, 24, spent last season with the Nashville Predators, logging nine assists in 52 regular-season games. Overall, the Halifax, Nova Scotia native has appeared in 208 NHL regular-season games with Colorado, Montreal, and Nashville, recording 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists). Barron was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the first round, No. 25 overall, of the 2020 NHL Draft.
