The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation is teaming with club corporate partners Vorys, Energy Transfer, Delta Dental and ADS, along with Foundation grant recipients the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Community Shelter Board, Columbus Parks and Recreation Foundation and LSS Choices for Victims of Domestic Violence, for a Spirit of Giving campaign in the month of December, the Foundation and club announced today. During the Spirit of Giving campaign, the Foundation will highlight a grant partner and the work it is doing in central Ohio, especially for those vulnerable populations that have been greatly impacted by COVID-19, on each of the first four Tuesdays in December.
To kick off the program today, which is also GivingTuesday, Vorys is donating $10,000 through the Foundation to support the Columbus Metropolitan Library. This gift will go to support the Library's Winter Reading Challenge program that will reach 10,000 students in central Ohio and encourage more than 60,000 hours of reading.
"The need for financial contributions in our central Ohio non-profit community is great," said Vorys Managing Partner Michael Martz. "We're proud to support the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation and their work supporting vital organizations like the Columbus Metropolitan Library. The Library's after school reading program has expanded to ensure that students have access to reading materials and meals while they participate in virtual schooling and we are honored to be a supporter of this very important work."
