Robinson _NYI_102121_06

When Eric Robinson went down with a knee injury in late January, the Blue Jackets lost their ironman.
To that point in his first three seasons with the team, Robinson had only missed one game, and that was because of COVID protocols earlier this year. He played in all 56 games a season ago and was on track for a good chunk of games again before the knee injury, which cost him 14 games.

"It can get frustrating," he said of being out. "You are just itching to get back. It's the first injury I had dealt with in my career, so it's something different.
"Especially, we had that two-week road trip there that you're not a part of and you're staying back home and rehabbing. It's difficult, but you stay positive. You know everyone deals with them in our sport, so it's just something I worked through and stayed positive through."
But now Robinson is back and will be in the lineup
tonight when the Blue Jackets take on the Islanders
in the team's new barn. Robinson will bring his speed, physicality and energy to the lineup, not to mention his 6-11-17 line in 42 games.
He won't be the only CBJ player who is back in the saddle, as Joonas Korpisalo is slated to get his first start since winning back-to-back games Jan. 27 against the Rangers and Jan. 30 at the Canadiens. Since then, he's been sidelined by a lower-body injury, but head coach Brad Larsen said the goalie is good to go.
"I know he's feeling good and he's feeling 100 percent," Larsen said. "In a perfect world, we get him 10-12 shots that are all from the outside and the blue line, but that's not always how it works. We'll see how the game goes, but I know Korpi is feeling good and hopefully we play well in front of him."

3 Keys to the Game

Rude guests: Columbus will play its first-ever game at UBS Arena and will look to use the energy of something new to get them going.
Help out Korpi: With the goalie making his first start in over a month, the Blue Jackets will want to make it easy on him and limit opportunities, especially against a team that doesn't score much.
Pile on: It's been a tough season for the Islanders, so getting up early and giving them no reason to be excited would be a great way to control the game.
