Matt Nieto Colorado Avalanche Carolina Hurricanes 021018

The Colorado Avalanche isn't expected to make any changes to its lineup for today's matinee at the Carolina Hurricanes, and that includes in net.
Goaltender Philipp Grubauer will make his second-consecutive start and his third of the season for Colorado. On Thursday at the New Jersey Devils, he made 27 saves in the 5-3 win, his first with the Avalanche.

"We like what Grubi did, I also want to give him a chance to build off that game," said Avs head coach Jared Bednar after Friday's practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. "We were pretty good defensively, he was good and I want to see if he can bounce back and equal that performance, or even better that performance that he had the other night."
Grubauer has a 4-2-1 record, 2.70 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in eight career games against the Hurricanes.
Mark Barberio and Marko Dano are the expected healthy scratches for Colorado, while J.T. Compher remains out of the lineup as he continues to recover from a head injury.
Dano was added to the Avs' active roster on Friday and joined the club in Carolina. He was claimed by the team off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets on Monday.
Today's game at PNC Arena in Raleigh is set to begin at 11 a.m. MT. It is the first of seven road and 13 total day outings that the Avalanche will play this season.
