A.J. Greer Anaheim Ducks 2018 January 15

WASHINGTON--The Colorado Avalanche opens a three-game trip on the East Coast tonight against the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena.
On Wednesday, Colorado recalled forward A.J. Greer and defenseman Anton Lindholm from the American Hockey League's Colorado Eagles. Greer will play against the Capitals, but head coach Jared Bednar did not say who Greer will be replacing in the lineup.

Greer has skated in five outings with the Avalanche this season and is second on the Eagles in scoring with 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists) in 36 games so far this campaign.
Goaltender Semyon Varlamov will be between the pipes for the Avs. After beginning his NHL career with Washington, Varlamov has played in seven contests against his former club and owns a 2.31 goals-against average and .937 save percentage in those matchups.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup. All forward combinations and defensive pairings are based on the ones used during the club's last outing versus the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday and are subject to change.
