The Utah Mammoth announced today the signing of forward Brandon Tanev to a three-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $2.5 million.

Tanev, 33, tallied 10-12-22 and 16 penalty minutes (PIM) in 79 regular-season games split between the Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets in 2024-25. He also skated in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games with Winnipeg.
The 6-foot, 189-pound forward has posted 84-96-180 and 249 PIM in 552 career NHL games with the Jets, Kraken, and Pittsburgh Penguins since making his NHL debut with Winnipeg in 2015-16. Tanev has also skated in 59 career playoff contests, earning 7-7-14 and 33 PIM.
Tanev played 23 American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Manitoba Moose in 2016-17, recording 2-7-9 and 13 PIM.
Before turning pro, Tanev played four seasons at Providence College from 2012-16, registering 35-42-77 and 81 PIM in 149 NCAA games. He helped the Friars win their first national title in 2015, scoring the third-period, game-winning goal in the national championship game against Boston University.
The Toronto, Ontario native represented Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Championship, tallying 4-1-5 and four PIM in 10 games.
Tanev’s brother, Christopher, is a defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs and has posted 36-172-208 and 218 PIM in 867 career NHL games.
