The Texas Stars played two games against San Antonio over the weekend, winning both to push their record to 10-6-2. The Stars are in third place in the AHL's Pacific Division.
Defenseman Stephen Johns, who was on a two-game assignment from Dallas, played a big role for Texas, scoring three goals in the two victories, including the game-winner in both games.
"It was good to have him, two game-winners," Texas coach Derek Laxdal told media. "He brought a lot of energy to our lineup. Big, heavy body. He was down here to get some ice time, find his game. He came down here with the right frame of mind, trying to build some confidence, scored three goals in two games, and hopefully that translates into some success for him up in Dallas."
And goaltender Max Lagace posted his first shutout of the season. Here's the latest on the AHL affiliate of the Texas Stars.
