Rookie respect: Heiskanen shows support for Mavs' Doncic

Call it some old fashioned rookie respect.
Already emerging as one of the league's brightest young players in only his first season with the Stars, defenseman Miro Heiskanen showed off his support for another future Dallas great before Friday's game against the Washington Capitals: First-year Mavericks point forward Luka Doncic.
Heiskanen, who was
selected to represent the Stars at 2019 NHL All-Star Weekend in San Jose
earlier this week, wore Doncic's No. 77 jersey while getting loose outside the team's dressing room prior to pregame warmups.

Doncic, who, like Heiskanen, is only 19 years old, has averaged 19.5 points per game in his first year with the Mavs and is currently bidding for a spot in the NBA All-Star Game later this month. Fans can vote for Doncic at
