The NHL Global Series is officially under way as the Senators are set to host the Red Wings tonight at Avicii Arena!

Based on how the Senators lined up during practice this morning these are the projected lines for today's game against the Red Wings:

Daniel Alfredsson announced today at his media availability with fellow Swede and NHL legend Niklas Lindstrom, that he would be behind the Senators bench for both games this weekend:

Power play: The Sens get the first man advantage as Michael Rasmussen is called for holding on Matthew Highmore at the 5:31 mark in the first.

Goal: Brady Tkachuk converts the power play just 26 seconds in to open the scoring on a tipped shot from Drake Batherson.

Penalty: Artem Zub called for a tripping on Lucas Raymond at the 6:16 mark in the first.

Senators kill off the penalty.

Goal: Brady Tkachuk scores his second of the game off of a phenomenal feed from Tim Stützle!

Penalty: Travis Hamonic called for delay of game at the 11:21 mark of the period.

Penalty: Alex DeBrincat is called for hooking on Jake Sanderson at the 12:47 mark. Four-on-four for 34 seconds.

Goal: Jake Sanderson capitalizes from the slot on the four-on-four at the 13:09 mark of the period. Still four-on-four!

Senators carry the 3-0 lead into the intermission.

Goal: Josh Norris strikes just 78 seconds into the second frame to extend the lead to 4!

Goal: Lucas Raymond gets one back for the Red Wings unassisted at the 9:39 mark.

Goal: David Perron connects at the 6:40 mark in the period to draw the Red Wings back within two.

Goal: Alex DeBrincat pots his 11th of the seasons at the 16:33 mark to make it a one-goal game.

Goal: Detroit ties the game with 2:48 to play.

Penalty: Senators open the period with Josh Norris drawing a tripping penalty on David Perron to gain the man advantage at the 1:13 mark.

Penalty: Jake Walman called holding Brady Tkachuk at the 2:02 mark to earn the five-on-three advantage.

Penalty: Jakob Chychrun is called for holding Olli Maata's stick at the 2:41 mark to make it four-on-three for the Senators.

Detroit kills off both penalties, Ottawa kills off their lone penalty.

Penalty: Detroit is assessed a penalty for too many men on the ice with 5:24 to play.

Detroit kills off the penalty.

Penalty: Detroit is called for delay of game with 1:31 to play.

This one is set for overtime!

Goal: Tim Stützle ends the game in dramatic fashion, batting the puck out of mid-air with 2.0 on the clock to give the Senators the first win at the Global Series.
