Dec. 9 - Grand opening of new Sens Store at 87 George St. in celebration of Sens25
Need that Erik Karlsson jersey under your Christmas Tree this year? On Friday, Dec. 9, a new Sens Store location will celebrate a grand opening at 87 George St. (the home of Bell Media) in the Byward Market. The store will be in place for the entirety of the Senators' 25th annivesary season in 2017.
The hours for the new location will be Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The location will feature all the great items that can be picked up at your regular Sens Store locations including some new items for the holidays. The store will also sell tickets to all Senators home games.
Dec. 14 - Chris Neil 1,000 game celebration
Tomorrow afternoon (Dec. 10) in Los Angeles, Senators forward Chris Neil is scheduled to play in his 1,000th game with Ottawa. Fans will have the opportunity to celebrate Neil's career on Dec. 14 with a special pre-game ceremony. Fans are asked to be in their seats early to show their appreciation for a great Senators player and part of our city, as the festivities will begin during the pre-game warmup.
Dec. 15 - Senators annual Christmas visit to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario
At 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, the entire Senators team will make their way to CHEO to spend some time with the children and spread some holiday cheer.
Dec. 16 - 13th annual Eugene Melnyk Skate for Kids
On the morning of Dec. 16 Senators owner Eugene Melnyk will host more than 100 local children at Canadian Tire Centre as part of the 13th annual Skate for Kids. Each child will receive a Senators jersey, helmet and a brand new pair of skates - all gifts from the Senators owner.
Dec. 29 - Daniel Alfredsson jersey retirement
Join us on Dec. 29 when we will celebrate the career of the greatest player in franchise history, Daniel Alfredsson. Alfredsson, the team's all-time leading scorer and longest serving captain, will be the first Senators player in modern history to have his number retired when his number 11 will be raised to the rafters of Canadian Tire Centre.
Fans will be asked to plan to arrive at Canadian Tire Centre early to be part of this special celebration, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Dec. 30 - Sens Skills, presented by Sport Chek
The annual fan-friendly Sens Skills competition, presented by Sport Chek, is set to take place at Canadian Tire Centre on Friday, Dec. 30, at 5:30 p.m.
Senators 25th anniversary team voting
To celebrate the Senators 25th anniversary, the duty of appointing the #Sens25 team is being handed to the fans. Leading up to #Sens25 fans will vote to determine the franchise team that will consist of 12 forwards, six defencemen and two goaltenders. Voting is now open with the selection of the best defencemen in franchise history, which closes on Dec. 11. Voting on the top forwards in team history starts on Dec. 12. All voting will conclude at the end of the month, with the team scheduled to be announced in January of 2017.
