Daoust recorded his first QMJHL hat-trick Friday night as Saint John beat Halifax 3-2. He'd follow that performance up with a two-assist night Saturday in a 6-3 victory over Victoriaville.
He'd be held pointless Sunday to complete the Sea Dogs 3-in-3 in a 2-1 loss to Drummondville.
The Sea Dogs sit third in the Eastern Conference with a 21-14-3 record.

Daoust hat-trick — Feb. 18, 2022

Ridly Greig (Brandon/WHL)Season totals: 32GP / 23G / 27A / 80PIM / +21
In four games this week, Greig tallied eight points (two goals) as Brandon went a perfect 4-0-0.
The Wheat Kings captain had two points but most importantly the overtime winner Tuesday in a 3-2 victory in Swift Current. He'd tally one assist in a 4-1 road win against Medicine Hat Wednesday before he had three assists in a 5-2 win over Lethbridge.
He'd complete the week with a goal and an assist as the Wheat Kings circled back to complete the road trip with a 2-1 victory over Swift Current.
Greig ranks third in the WHL in points per game with 1.56 while he is second in penalty minutes per game at 2.50. Greig's 50 points leads the Wheat Kings, who sit sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 25-15-5 record.
Mark Kastelic (Belleville/AHL)Season totals: 36GP / 8G / 7A / 49PIM / -3
Kastelic helped the Sens collect four points against the Marlies this week and it started Friday night as he had a goal in a 4-3 victory at CAA Arena.
In the return fixture in Toronto, Kastelic would score again, and tally an assist, in a 5-4 overtime victory as the Sens moved their record to 21-19-0.
Carson Latimer (Prince Albert/WHL)Season totals: 40GP / 11G / 17A / 14PIM / +5
Latimer had two points in two games this week as he grabbed an assist Friday in a 5-4 overtime loss to Regina.
He'd bury his fifth goal with the Raiders a day later in a 4-2 home loss to Moose Jaw.
Prince Albert are 17-26-3 this season and sit 11th in the WHL's Eastern Conference.
Jakov Novak (Northeastern/NCAA)Season totals: 31GP / 8G / 7A / 24PIM / +6
In a weekend series with Boston College, Novak was the difference maker Saturday night.
After the Huskies lost 4-1 Friday, they bounced back the next night for a 4-1 win with Novak scoring once and adding an assist.
Novak's eight goals are the third most on a Northeastern side that sits fifth in the Hockey East.

Zack Ostapchuk (Vancouver/WHL)Season totals: 39GP / 12G / 14A / 43PIM / -2
In two games this week, Ostapchuk scored twice for the Giants.
The 39th overall pick in 2021 got on the scoresheet Friday in a 5-2 loss to Victoria and scored again the next night as the Giants beat Kamloops 4-3 in overtime on the road.
Ostapchuk's 26 points are the third most on the Giants among active players, as are his 12 goals. Vancouver currently sits seventh in the Western Conference with a 19-24-2 record.
Egor Sokolov (Belleville/AHL)Season totals: 35GP / 14G / 16A / 10PIM / +12
It was a huge week for Sokolov who scored the game-winner both times as Belleville collected four points from the Marlies.
On Friday, he scored twice in a 4-3 victory and snapped a 3-3 tie at 9:42 of the third. A day later, he'd play overtime hero in a 5-4 victory as scored his team-high 14th of the season.
Sokolov's 30 points lead the team while his 16 assists are part of a three-way tie for the team lead with Roby Jarventie and Jake Lucchini.

Lassi Thomson (Belleville/AHL)Season totals: 20GP / 6G / 10A / 34PIM / +4
While Thomson didn't score this week, he sure tallied the helpers.
The Finnish d-man had two in Friday's victory, including on Sokolov's third period game-winner. On Saturday, he'd set a new career high with a three-assist game and of course, he was part of Sokolov's overtime winner.
Thomson's six goals, 10 assists and 16 points all rank second among Belleville blueliners.
