Freshman defender Philip Nyberg (2016, fifth round) scored his first collegiate goal, the game-winner, Friday as Connecticut got past New Hampshire 5-3. Nyberg continues to his produce on Saturday, notching one assist as the Huskies swept the Wildcats with a 4-2 victory. Nyberg has played 14 games with Connecticut since leaving the USHL mid-season, recording one goal and six points.
Max Willman (2014, fifth round) notched assists in back-to-back games over the weekend as Brown was dealt a pair of losses 7-2 at Princeton and 4-1 at Quinnipiac. In 29 games, Willman has broken through for 10 goals and 25 points.
Cal Petersen (2013, fifth round) was sharp in making 37 saves Friday as Notre Dame defeated Boston University 3-1. The third-year goaltender did not have the same luck Saturday, allowing four goals on 36 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Terriers. Petersen has a record of 19-10-5 with a 2.12 GAA and .927 save%.
Notre Dame forward Connor Hurley (2013, second round) is out for the season after scoring four goals and 16 points in 21 contests.
Sean Malone (2013, sixth round) picked up an assist Friday in Harvard's 4-1 win over Clarkson, and was kept off the score sheet the following night as the Crimson clinched top spot in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 6-3 victory over St. Lawrence. Malone is currently tied for fourth in team scoring with 32 points (14+18) in 29 games.
Ivan Chukarov (2015, seventh round) connected from the top of the circle for his second goal of the season Friday as Massachusetts was defeated by Providence 6-2. Chularov, who produced a plus-1 rating Saturday in a 2-1 loss to the Friars, has eight points and 68 shots on goal in 34 games.
Judd Peterson (2012, seventh round) tied the game with 2:22 left in regulation Friday as St. Cloud State fell to Denver 4-3 in overtime.
