GARDEN PARTY - The Rangers tied a franchise record with their fifth consecutive home playoff win (in a single playoff season) and improved to 5-1 at MSG in these playoffs. The four previous times New York has won five home playoff games in a row were 1994 (5 GP - Games 1 & 2 of CQF vs. NYI, Games 1, 2, 5 of CSF vs. WSH), 1981 (5 GP - Games 3 & 4 of Prem. Round vs. LAK, Games 3, 4, 6 of QF vs. STL), 1974 (5 GP - Games 4 & 6 of QF vs. MTL, Games 3, 4, 6 of SF vs. PHI), 1940 (5 GP - Games 1, 4, 6 of SF vs. BOS, Games 1 & 2 of Stanley Cup Final vs. TOR). Since 2010-11, the Blueshirts are 20-4-0 against the Hurricanes at home (18-4-0 in regular season, 2-0 in postseason).

FOUR IN OUR FAVOR - The Blueshirts improved to 42-34 (.553) overall and 31-18 (.633) at home all-time in Game 4 of a best-of-seven series.
OFFENSIVE DEFENSEMEN- Rangers defensemen accounted for four points (1G-3A) tonight and have accounted for 29 points in these playoffs, the second most in the NHL. New York's 22 assists by defensemen are tied with Colorado for the most in the league and its seven goals are the second most in the NHL.
PERFECT PENALTY KILL- The Blueshirts improved to 9-for-9 on the penalty kill in this series after a 2-for-2 effort tonight. New York has been perfect on the penalty kill in six of its last seven games and seven times in 11 playoff games.
MAKING THE MOST OF MAN ADVANTAGE - For a second-straight game, the Rangers scored on the power play and for the second time this postseason, New York scored mutliple power play goals (Game 6 vs. PIT). New York has scored at least one power play goal in seven of 11 games this postseason.
BREATHING ROOM - The Rangers won by three-plus goals for the second time in this postseason (Game 2 vs. PIT).

  • Andrew Copp established a postseason career-high with three points tonight (1G-2A) and recorded his second multi-point game of these playoffs (Game 7 vs. PIT). Since joining the Rangers, Copp has accumulated 28 points in 27 games (8G-10A in 16 RS GP & 5G-5A in 11 PS GP).
    - Adam Fox became the sixth player in franchise history with a postseason-opening home point streak of six or more games, recording one goal and one assist tonight, joining Mark Messier (7 GP in 1994), Wayne Gretzky (6 GP in 1997), Luc Robitaille (6 GP in 1997), Pierre Larouche (6 GP in 1986) and Brad Park (6 GP in 1974). Park is the only other defenseman among that group. Fox recorded his 13th point of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs to take sole possession of the League lead among blueliners. He became the fifth different defenseman in Rangers history with as many in a single postseason, joining Brian Leetch (3x: 34 in 1994, 15 in 1992 & 14 in 1995), Sergei Zubov (19 in 1994), Ryan McDonagh (17 in 2014), Barry Beck (13 in 1981) and Mike McEwen (13 in 1979). Tonight was Fox's second multi-point game of these playoffs (4 PTS vs. PIT in Game 6).
    - Mika Zibanejad scored his fifth goal of the postseason, giving him 10 points (5G-5A) in his last six games and 14 points (5G-9A) in these playoffs. Zibanejad ranks fourth in the NHL in points and tied for fifth in assists.
    - Igor Shesterkin made 30 saves on 31 shots to earn the win and became the fifth goaltender in club history to post a five-game home winning streak during a postseason, following Mike Richter (1994), Steve Baker (1981), Ed Giacomin (1974) and Dave Kerr (1940). Shesterkin has allowed one goal in each of his last three games and has allowed a total of five goals in four games this series.
    - Frank Vatrano recorded his second multi-point game (1G-1A) of the playoffs and in his playoff career. Vatrano has tallied three goals and four assists for seven points in 11 games this postseason. Since joining the Rangers on March 17, Vatrano has accumulated 20 points (11G-9A) in 33 games.
    - Ryan Lindgren collected his first career multi-point game (2A) in the playoffs and has four points (1G-3A) in eight playoff games.
    - Ryan Strome notched his sixth assist of the postseason, giving him seven points (1G-6A) in 11 games.
    - Ryan Reaves had five hits, tied with Alexis Lafrenière for the game-high tonight. Reaves has delivered five or more hits in four playoff games this year.
