Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 9, 2026) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Chris MacFarland announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Vegas’ second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
“Jayden Struble is a 25-year-old physical defender who will add mobility and a hard-to-play against quality that will help our backend,” MacFarland said. “We are excited to watch his growth and look forward to him being a player who can grow with us.”
Struble, 25 (9/8/01), has appeared in three games for the Canadiens this season, averaging 12:05 of ice time with four hits and three blocked shots. Last season, the third of his NHL career, the 6-foot, 207-pound, left-shot blueliner recorded 12 points (2g-10a) and a +4 rating in a career-high 59 games with Montreal, ranking second on his team in hits with 115. Struble, who made his NHL debut in 2023-24, owns 35 points (7g-28a), 167 penalty minutes and a +3 rating in 174 career games, all coming with the Canadiens. He additionally has skated in 14 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests, averaging 11:46 of ice time.
Originally selected by Montreal in the second round (46th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, the Cumberland, Rhode Island, native played four seasons at Northeastern University from 2019-23 prior to turning pro, serving as an alternate captain for the Huskies as a senior and winning the Hockey East regular-season title during his junior campaign.
