Guest Coaches

The most recognized male figure skating star in the world, Scott Hamilton has won 70 titles, awards and honors including an Emmy Award nomination, induction into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame and a privileged member of the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame. He captured the attention of the world just over 30 years ago with his Olympic Gold medal performances in Saravejo and since has shared his love and enthusiasm for the sport as a commentator, performer, producer and best-selling author (Landing It, 1999; The Great Eight, 2014; Finish First 2018), and most recently with the founding of the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy. He further inspires others as a speaker, philanthropist and cancer and pituitary brain tumor survivor.

Peter is a National, World and Olympic-level coach. He was named "Choreographer of the Year" and "Coach of the Year" by the Professional Skaters Association and US Figure Skating. Peter has coached his skaters to 10 national singles and pairs titles. He is a 3 x U.S. Pairs Champion and 1988 Olympic Bronze Medalist. In 2004 Peter was inducted into the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame. Fun Fact: Peter was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2014! 

Susan holds a PSA Ranking Level V and multiple regional, sectional and national medalists. She is a former coach of Team USA member Barbie Long (JGP Silver Medalist), McKinzie Daniels and Gracie Gold. Susan has 42 years coaching experience and we are proud and excited to welcome her to our spring camp!

Linda is a 4x Swedish National Champion, European, World and Olympic Competitor, choreographs for Disney's Princess Classics Ice Show, choreographs for an upcoming 2018 movie about Sonia Henie, as well as choreographs for many National Champions and World and Olympic competitors around the world. It's our honor and pleasure to welcome her to our spring camp!

Jeremy is the coach of Bradie Tennell (2018 U.S. Champion, and member of 2018 U.S. Olympic Bronze Medal Team). Jeremy is also an ISU Sr. Championship Coach and has 16 Years Coaching Experience in Singles and Pairs. We can't wait to have his expertise at our spring camp!

Shane is a gold medalist in Figures, Freestyle, Dance, Solo Dance and Senior Moves in the Field. Shane has coached skaters in all levels at Regionals, Sectional, and Nationals. He's also the 1974 National Novice Men's champion. We are excited to have Shane as a guest coach at our spring camp!

Our very own Coach Paula is Master Rated in Freeskate, Choreography & Style, Group Instruction, and serves as the Program Director and Manager of the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy.

Additional Camp Information

We take great pride in providing a fun, safe and healthy environment. You are part of our team making this possible. Please take note of our policies and review them with all skaters prior to camp starts.

  • All skaters must sign in AND out daily at our friendly Scott Hamilton Skating Academy table located in the lobby by the entrance to North Rink.
  • On the first day of camp, each camper will receive a folder with their schedule (and private lesson schedule if applicable) that will keep them organized and ready to tackle each day! 
  • Please use locker rooms for skate bags and personal belongings. Please keep locker rooms and lunch area clean. Pick up after yourselves each day before leaving the area.
  • The daily schedule will be provided prior to the first day of camp, but may change slightly based on what our coaching staff feels the skaters need most on the path to Sk8Gr8! 
  • We are all about fun! Safe, friendly behavior is expected of all our participants. 
  • Athletes should not go outside of building unless supervised by our coaches
  • Please leave all valuables at home. We are not responsible for stolen or lost items.
  • Skaters are encouraged to wear proper skating attire
  • Please bring tennis shoes/runners for off-ice classes and proper warm up! 
  • Please bring a yoga mat if you have one or a towel for off-ice classes
  • Notebook or binder for handouts and note taking!
  • Pencil, paper and pens for note taking.
  • If you have a completed program, bring music and costume. 
  • Additional private lessons are available. Registered campers will get 1st priority for additional lessons with Guest Coaches and will be emailed opportunity to book lessons once Camp Registration fees are paid. 
  • Please follow the below recommendation for getting the most out of your private lessons
    • Please arrive early for each lesson and patiently wait behind coach 2 minutes before your scheduled lesson time.  
    • Have a short list of 2 or 3 things you would like to work on so you can make the most of your lesson time! 

Registrations are considered final; however, refunds (minus a $100 processing fee) will be allowed for skaters who withdraw one week in advance of the start date, due to documented injuries, medical conditions or family emergencies. There will be no refunds given for no-shows or withdraws less than one week prior to camp starting.
