SUNRISE, Fla. -Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Maxim Mamin on a one-year contract.
"Maxim has developed into a potent two-way forward in his time the KHL, playing for a championship-caliber club in CKSA Moscow," said Zito. "His size and compete level are valuable attributes and we are excited to have him back at the Panthers."
Mamin, 26, appeared in 55 games with CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in 2020-21, ranking second on the club with 20 assists and 35 points (15-20-35). Over 22 postseason games with CSKA, he notched 12 points (6-6-12), helping the club to an appearance in the Gagarin Cup Final.
The 6-foot-2, 206-pound native of Moscow, Russia has played in 33 career NHL games, all with Florida (2017-18 to 2018-19), producing four points (3-1-4).
Over 260 career KHL games with CSKA (2014-15 to 2016-17, 2018-19 to 2020-21), Mamin has amassed 108 points (47-61-108). He won the 2018-19 Gagarin Cup with CSKA, posting five points (2-3-5) over 10 KHL postseason games, including the cup-clinching goal in overtime against Avangard Omsk. In the 2014-15 season, Mamin was named the KHL's Rookie of the Year after registering 10 points (5-5-10) in 39 games for CSKA Moscow.
Mamin appeared in 32 American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Springfield Thunderbirds in 2017-18, registering 25 points (9-16-25).
Originally selected by the Panthers in the fifth round (175th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Mamin earned a Silver Medal with Russia at the 2015 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship, recording five points (2-3-5) in seven games. He also earned a Gold Medal at the 2012 World U17 Hockey Challenge.
