About the Program

The Florida Panthers Next Step Clinics are 3 week programs that offer an opportunity for graduates of LTP Ball Hockey and seasoned hockey players a place to continue to improve upon their ball hockey skills and hockey knowledge. With your registration fee, participants ages 5-14 will have the option to choose from Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced clinics which will ensure players of all skill levels have a place to play.

  • 1st time ball/ice hockey players should enroll in Learn To Play Ball Hockey prior to joining a Next Step Clinic.
  • Participants are permitted to register for Next Step Clinics multiple times.

Beginner

Where the journey begins.

Description: An introduction to ball hockey focused on fun, movement, and the basics — passing, shooting, and stickhandling — all in a high-energy, supportive environment. Perfect for recent graduates of Learn to Play Ball Hockey.

Week One:

Introduction to Hockey Fundamentals

  • Proper hockey stance and body positioning

Stickhandling Basics

  • Grip, hand placement, and ball control techniques

Passing Basics

  • Accurate forehand and backhand passing

Week Two:

Stickhandling Basics - Refresher

Passing Basics - Refresher

Shooting Basics

  • Focus on proper stance, hand placement, and follow-through

Scrimmage

  • Apply learned skills in a game-like setting

Intermediate

Sharpen your skills. Build your instincts.

Description: Designed for kids who have some hockey experience and want to level up. We focus on game concepts, positioning, teamwork, and next-level skill development — with a little more structure and intensity.

Week One:

Re-Introduction to Hockey Fundamentals

Shooting Tune-Up

  • Review of wrist shots

  • Introduction to snap shots

  • Introduction to one-timers

  • Introduction to backhanders

Week Two:

Shooting Tune-Up – Refresher

Stickhandling Tune-Up

  • Moving with control and heads-up awareness

Passing Tune-Up

  • Heads-up and movement with passing

Week Three:

Stickhandling Reinforcement

Passing Reinforcement

Scrimmage

  • Apply learned skills in a game-like setting

  • Focus on teamwork, positioning, and communication

Advanced

Play with purpose. Compete with confidence.

Description: Advanced drills, game scenarios, and high-level training for players ready to dominate the rink. Fast-paced and competitive — built for those chasing peak performance.

Refund Policy:

Refunds may be provided up to 24 hours before the start time of the first practice session. After that time, registrations will no longer be eligible for refunds.

Weather Policy:

Any sessions canceled due to inclement weather will look to be rescheduled. In the event that a session cannot be rescheduled within an appropriate time frame, all participants will receive a partial refund.
