The Carolina Hurricanes will win the Stanley Cup because they have unmatched depth at every position.

They have 11 players who have scored at least 10 goals, led by forwards Sebastian Aho (37), Andrei Svechnikov (30) and Nino Niederreiter (24). Aho (81 points), Svechnikov (69) and Teuvo Teravainen (65) are three of 14 players with at least 28 points, showing their incredible depth.
Defensemen Tony DeAngelo (51 points) and Jaccob Slavin (42) each set NHL career highs in points and Brady Skjei (39) and Brett Pesce (28) each was one short of his NHL career high.

Offense not your thing? No problem.
The Hurricanes have one of the best goalie tandems in the NHL. Frederik Andersen is among the leaders in wins (35), goals-against average (2.17) and save percentage (.922), and backup Antti Raanta has a 2.45 GAA and .912 save percentage. The two of them helped Carolina win the Jennings Trophy for allowing the fewest goals this season (200, 2.44 goals against per game).
True, Andersen and Raanta are dealing with injuries, and there is a question about Andersen's availability. He has not skated since sustaining an injury April 16. Rookie Pyotr Kochetkov did just fine filling in during the last two weeks of the regular season, going 3-0-0.
Carolina had the best penalty kill in the NHL (88.0 percent), allowed the fewest shots per game (28.2) and ranked 12th on the power play (22.0 percent).
It should not be understated how important coach Rod Brind'Amour has been in the Hurricanes' turnaround. He has helped them qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of his four seasons as coach after they went nine straight seasons without doing so. He won the Jack Adams Award as NHL coach of the year last season and could be a finalist again this season. Brind'Amour may not have won the Cup as a coach but was captain when the Hurricanes won their only Cup title in 2006.
The Hurricanes didn't make any splashy moves before the 2022 Trade Deadline either, showing they believe they have the roster to win it all. Forward Max Domi was their lone acquisition, providing forward depth.
No other team in the NHL matches up with the Hurricanes offensively, defensively and in goal.
After losing the Eastern Conference Final in 2019, the first round in 2020 and the Stanley Cup Second Round last season, this is the season the Hurricanes put it all together in the postseason and the Stanley Cup returns to North Carolina after a 16-year absence.
