VGK@PHI: Fleury makes incredible save to hold lead

"I got tangled up with my defenseman (
Jon Merrill
)," Fleury said. "He was coming back to backcheck and we got tangled up this way, so that's why I spin to the other side, try to get something in front of the net because I saw [Weal] cross in front. Just try to cover some net."
Fleury had a 3.95 goals-against average in his first four games and allowed five goals on 16 shots by the Flyers in a 5-2 home loss on Oct. 4. In 26 games here, Fleury is 17-6-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .910 save percentage, including time witht the Pittsburgh Penguins.
"Always loud, atmosphere is good," he said. "People are on me a bit."
Eakin dove in the offensive zone to poke the puck away from Sean Couturier and was open on the left side to take a return pass from Ryan Carpenter to score his second goal of the season.

VGK@PHI: Eakin wires clutch goal from the circle

"Just one of those ones where a stick and a bounce, and we were in the right spot at the right time," Eakin said. "I think that translated into the goal."
Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said he was disappointed by the outcome but happy with the effort.
"We played a [heck] of a game today," he said. "It stinks walking away with nothing to show for it. You don't get moral points for a loss but we played a [heck] of a hockey game today. Not much there I'd want to change. ... This is one of those nights, tip my hat to Fleury in net.
"They made a play late in the hockey game and it hurts like [heck] to walk out of here with nothing."

They said it

"Few more smiles going home. Long flight. Still only got four points on this trip so it's not ideal, but our game is improving a bit over the course of this road trip. Just got to keep getting better."-- Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury
"We had a lot of scoring chances we didn't capitalize offensively. We created some chances and we've got to stick to what we're doing. It's going to come. We're going to score a few goals next game if we do the same thing. Offensively we were good, defensively we were pretty tight. [The penalty kill] did a good job. Just little mistakes at the end that cost us big time." -- Flyers forward Sean Couturier
