Markstrom

Jacob Markstrom had a lower-body procedure performed Wednesday and the Vancouver Canucks goalie will be reevaulated in two weeks.

Markstrom was injured during a 9-3 win against Boston Bruins at Rogers Arena on Feb. 22. He played the entire game and made 34 saves for the Canucks (34-22-6), who were tied with the Edmonton Oilers for second place in the Pacific Division, two points behind the Vegas Golden Knights, before Edmonton played Vegas on Wednesday.
Markstrom is 23-16-4 with a 2.75 goals-against average, .918 save percentage and two shutouts in 43 games this season.
Thatcher Demko started for the Canucks in a 4-3 overtime win at the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. He is 11-6-2 with a 3.03 GAA and .906 save percentage in 21 games (19 starts).
"He has played good goal for us, our team has confidence in him," Vancouver general manager Jim Benning said Monday. "This is an opportunity for him to step in and play like he's played for us all year. It's not a perfect situation, but it is what it is. It's going to be a great opportunity for Thatcher."
Demko was backed up by Louis Domingue, who was traded to Vancouver by the New Jersey Devils on Monday for goalie prospect Zane McIntyre.
Domingue is 3-8-2 with a 3.79 GAA and .882 save percentage in 16 games this season.
"It made sense to do that," Benning said. "Louis has experience in the League and he's played well."
