WINNIPEG, MB -- The following is a statement from True North Sports + Entertainment regarding the 2016 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic™:
On behalf of our employees, partners, alumni, Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, and National Hockey League, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the overwhelming community support of the 2016 Rogers Alumni™ game on Saturday, Oct. 22, the 2016 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic™ on Sunday, Oct. 23, and all the equally worthwhile preceding Heritage Classic events throughout the week. Whether you were at the games, watching on a big screen at a local restaurant, or hosting a Heritage Classic party at home, Winnipeg once again clearly demonstrated why it has the most passionate hockey fans in the world.

Furthermore, True North Sports + Entertainment is deeply humbled by our community's incredible spirit of generosity this weekend, generously supporting the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer campaign, and setting new records for 50/50 sales. Funds generated from 50/50 go to support underserved youth in our community with programs developed by the True North Youth Foundation.
The 2016 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic™ was truly a once in a lifetime hockey experience for generations of fans. We could not have done it without your support.
Sincerely,
Mark J. Chipman
