Martinook leads 'Wolfpack' chant at NC State game

Jordan Martinook led the pack on Friday.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward performed the “Wolfpack” chant during the NC State game against Richmond at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh.

Martinook sported Philip Rivers No. 17 NC State jersey as he took the field.

Rivers -- the former NFL quarterback -- played for NC State from 2000 to 2003. The university retired his No. 17 after his final home game in 2003.

Local reporters shared videos of Martinook firing up the crowd on social media.

Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour was also in attendance at the game. Unfortunately, the Stanley Cup was not in tow with the champions.

Carter-Finley Stadium is located right next to the Lenovo Center.

NC State shut out Richmond 73-0 for their first win of the season.

Martinook and the Hurricanes will soon be firing up Lenovo Center when they face off against the Florida Panthers at the arena on Tuesday, Sept. 29 (5 p.m. ET; ESPN) to open the NHL season.
