Blake Coleman welcome back

Calgary Flames fans lit up when they saw Blake Coleman on Thursday.

The Minnesota Wild forward received a standing ovation in his first game back at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary since being traded in July.

During a stoppage of play in the first period, the Flames played a video tribute featuring highlights of Coleman’s time with the team on the arena scoreboard.

Flames fans got on their feet and cheered loudly for the veteran forward as he saluted the crowd.

The Flames also shared the video tribute on social media.

Coleman played five of his 11 NHL seasons with the Flames from 2021-26. He was traded to the Wild in exchange for forward Jake Middleton and future draft picks.
