TORONTO - The 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ festivities at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg Oct. 22-23 will feature performances by Juno Award-winning artists from the worlds of rock and country music. Canadian rock band The Strumbellas and Sum 41 will headline the entertainment for the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ outdoor contest between the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, Oct. 23 (3 p.m. ET, SN, TVAS2, NHLN) with special performances by country music stars Brett Kissel and Manitoba's own Doc Walker. Canadian music icon Tom Cochrane will warm up the crowd at the NHL Heritage Classic Alumni Game on Saturday, Oct. 22 (4 p.m. ET, SN, NHLN).

The celebration begins on Oct. 22 with the NHL Heritage Classic Alumni Game and a performance of the Canadian national anthem by original Jets anthem singer Jennifer Hanson followed by a flyover by two Royal Canadian Air Force CT 156 Harvard II aircrafts. Cochrane will perform his hits during the first intermission of the Alumni Game, which will feature legendary Jets and Oilers players, including Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Teemu Selanne.
On Sunday, Oct. 23, before fans file into Investors Group Field, Sum 41 will give a pre-game performance in the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic Spectator Plaza, the hockey-themed fan festival in the University of Manitoba U Parking Lot. Kissel will then lead the anthem ceremony with a performance of "O Canada" accompanied by Doc Walker. Two Royal Canadian Air Force F18s and a Snowbirds Demonstration team will lead the flyover. The Strumbellas will perform during the first intermission of the Jets-Oilers regular-season outdoor game on Oct. 23. The second intermission will feature a special tribute to Winnipeg Jets hockey.
BaAM, the Toronto-based creative production company, will produce the pre-game and in-game performances and celebrations under the direction of NHL Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Steve Mayer.
